Who we are

The Marburg Mission Foundation (MM) is a non-profit organization. Its first missionary was sent to China in September 1909 which marked the beginning of the organization. Today, around 70 missionaries are serving in eight countries and in the East Africa Network to fulfill the worldwide mission of Jesus Christ. 56 people are long-term missionaries with a term of more than two years. Every year, about 15 short-term volonteers are involved in various projects to support the long-term missionaries.

What do we do?

Together with and on behalf of churches, we send men and women as missionaries with the liberating and life-changing good news of Jesus Christ to eight countries and to the East Africa Network.
We work in partnership with local churches and organizations which we also support. Our competencies are in church planting and helping churches grow, theological training, evangelistic deaconry and transcultural networking.

What ist our goal?

Our goal is to build and support independent churches which in result are able to actively participate in the Great Commission by sending missionaries themselves.

Where do we work?

Our missionaries serve in eight countries: Brazil (1932), Germany (2012), Japan (1951), Peru (1996), Russia (1993), Spain (1987), Taiwan (1952) and Thailand (1953). In addition, we launched the East Africa Network (Uganda, South Sudan and Congo) in 2014, which helps the East African churches participate in worldwide missions.

How do we communicate with our friends?

The Marburger Mission Magazine (MMM) is published quarterly and informs readers about God’s work in all the countries MM missionaries are currently serving in. In addition, weekly prayer news are sent out to keep friends up-to-date on happenings and needs around the world.

We also communicate via our newsletter, website and social media such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

The MM organizes local and national missions conferences.

MM missionaries are available for church visits during furlough.
