A short-term mission team of Youth with a Mission (YWAM) was a guest at the Bethesda home last week and brought joy and encouragement.
The team (10 people) came from Hawaii as part of its Taiwan operation. In the morning they helped in our work areas – especially in the bakery: one of the visitors taught our residents a cake recipe. This resulted in a new recipe that we might offer at Café Hope.
In the afternoon and in the evening it was about community: time with our young people, a lot of laughter – and above all a lot of basketball, which went down really well with our residents.
A highlight was the devotion on Thursday: with dance and a reference to Daniel’s friends in the fire furnace, the biblical story came alive.
We also visited the Tiancheng Church in the mountains, a place where the work of the Marburg Mission in Taiwan began. There, the team designed a praise session.
Mirjam Wentland: So nice to see how the team used every opportunity to tell about Jesus and pray for people. That motivated me!
We are grateful for this week – for encounters and new inspiration.
