The discipleship school in Vigo has two parts: three months of training in Vigo, then two months of assignments. In this second part, this year’s students are currently. This year they are in Thailand and are engaged against human trafficking. Nadine Hollmann is also part of the mission team for two weeks. She reports:
Right now we are on the road in Pattaya, often referred to as the ‘world capital of prostitution’. Our commitment is as simple as it is significant: we pray much for this city and try to meet the women. We want to laugh with them, play board games and give them a little time for themselves. With this we want to show: We see you. And above all: You are valuable!
Here on the ground, it is our privilege to work with an organisation that wants to give women in prostitution a new future – with training places, pastoral care and a children’s programme. The contact is often made through free English lessons.
On 10.02. was the Valentine's Day: We distributed 2,500 lovingly packed gift bags. The mission was a complete success – the 2,500 bags were not nearly enough. Nadine sums up: The women we could talk to were super happy. It was nice to see her bright faces. Her laughter was really contagious.
