How we help
Community visits
In the region Apurímac Uta and Felipe Salazar regularly visit several communities. Many of these communities consist of very few members, the majority of which belong to the indigenous population of the Peruvian Andes. The socially and economically weak area favors growing concerns and needs of the people. The municipal environment should stabilize and offer help.
Enabling conversations
An open ear. Often it makes the difference when there is someone who listens and asks. In the rural region around Andahuaylas, Uta and Felipe Salazar help and accompany people who are stuck in broken family structures, have had traumatic experiences or suffer from living conditions.
Word of Love
In addition to an open ear, advice and practical assistance is an important part of pastoral work. The focus is on the Bible. Uta and Felipe also experience again and again that God meets people with encouragement and assumptions through the Bible. In the midst of the conversations is forgiveness and the new beginning through Jesus Christ.
Enabling reconciliation
Often the wounds are very deep. It is not uncommon for community members to carry anger, disappointment or grief for years. Reconciliation is not always possible, but Uta and Felipe encourage the communities again and again.
