Queimadas (Basil) – Ka’egso and Eipeen Hery have begun the revision of the New Testament (NT) in the Kaingang language. The previous translation had the main aim of being understandable, but the interpretation was always introduced into the translation. This partly promoted "Christian behaviors" that do not correspond to the basic Greek text.
Younger Kaingang Christians especially like to read the New Testament and want a basic revision. It is important for them to come to the right understanding of the text through God’s guidance. In addition, the translation team will be expanded by two young Kaingang. The revision of the NT is expected to last until the end of 2024. After that, the entire Bible will be printed and published.
