Cambodia – protecting children

Life in the village

In rural Cambodia, many families live on agriculture, often with uncertain incomes and simple infrastructure. Routes are long, especially in the rainy season difficult to pass. Medical help is scarce: clinics are lacking, medicines are expensive, and emergencies often reach care too late. Our project "Protecting the most important" is therefore committed to training in first aid on the child and to providing long-term support for people on site.

Where help is needed

Faced with the plight of the people around us, one can quickly be overwhelmed. Chanty and Christian Schneider want to help in Cambodia where they see the need concretely. This can be garden care for the sick or otherwise prevented neighbors, a swimming course to protect the children in the rainy season from the danger of drowning. Or simply: train people how to provide first aid in the emergency situation.

Our offerors

TRAINING

If you want to protect children as "the most important thing", you have to teach them and their parents how to respond appropriately in an emergency situation. With our regular first aid courses on the child, we want to achieve exactly that.

LONG-TERM ACCOMPANYING

Training makes an important contribution. However, a lasting effect is mainly due to long-term support for the people on site. This creates the basis that they not only remain physically healthy, but can also develop holistically.

We pursue this goal through targeted and long-term pastoral support.

Presence

Nothing strengthens personal stability more than a reliable and friendly presence on site. What has long been known in pedagogy also applies to development work: sustainable change requires closeness, time and relationship.

With Chanty and Christian Schneider, we have a family in Cambodia that combines professional competence, personal maturity and a deep love for the local people. They stand for precisely this form of long-term and binding support.
